About me

I live in Daly City with my wife and two young sons. During the school year my family tries to stay active through smaller home projects or family games and the like. During summer vacation we stay busy camping or by doing other home projects. My favorite activities are backpacking, fishing, kayaking, and listening to my boys’ laughter as I tickle them incessantly.

My entire teaching career has been at Sunnyvale Middle School. I started in 2004, and have taught 7th and 8th grade English and English Learner Development. In addition to SMS, I taught English as a second language at South Tamamura Junior High in Tamamura, Japan from 1999 to 2001, and also served as an ESL aide at Sequoia Junior High in Kent, Washington and at Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington.

From 2002 to 2004 I worked on my Multiple Subjects teaching credential at San Francisco State’s Elementary Teacher Program. Also at SF State, I acquired a Single Subject teaching credential. In 1998 I graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and an English-as-a-Second Language Teaching certificate. Before Western I graduated from Green River Community College in 1996 with an Associate of Arts transfer degree.
